New Wet Kojak was formed in 1993 by guitarist/singer Scott McCloud + bassist Johnny Temple – both of Girls Against Boys +
Soulside. They created an overtly seductive aesthetic on their albums – utilizing the saxophone, whispered vocals and reserved instrumentation.
The band also includes Geoff Turner on lead guitar/keyboard + and Charles Bennington on saxophone and Nick Pelliciotto on drums.

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!!

My Favorite Fugazi record. Probably not the album to start with, but the most emotionally charged album they made. Every track is super profound and they all have a certain pensive and melancholic feel a lot of fugazi LPs don't. I imagine it's the logical next step after the intensity and anger of the early releases.
